What is a tillage radish?
It is a member of the Brassica plant family that also includes mustard, cabbage, canola, broccoli and others. It is a unique choice for a fall/winter cover crop that is relatively new to the United States. It’s been selected for large, fast growing -straight roots that are that have shown significant benefits in enhancing soil quality.

What is a cover crop?
Cover crops are any plant grown cash crops to protect soil, improve soil quality, and preserve nutrients.

Why do farmers plant cover crops?
Cover crops enhance soil by reducing compaction, suppressing weeds, recycling nutrients, controlling erosion and aerating soil for increased yields.

No-till soil management is an agriculture practice that preserves soil and water quality by eliminating tillage.
